Chemical peels and peeling solutions can be a gamechanger for a lot of people but with some of its cons. Let’s discuss some of the best brands of peeling solutions which you yourself can do it in your home, about skin types and its pros & cons.
Peeling Solution for Beginners
Peeling solutions comes in various concentrations starting even from 1-5% to 30-35% or even more. As said above these can be a game changer when used correctly and I am only discussing what I have done and what purely worked for me in this article.

Let me start with sensitive skin guys and girls. Whatever may be the skin type you have, be it oily, dry or normal only start with a very minimum percentage like 2-5 and never apply the product on your face without patch testing it. No peeling solution is going to give to a flawless skin overnight, it is only going to reduce the visibility of the flaw a little less when used on a regular basis.
Do’s and Don’ts
Never overuse peeling solutions because, these are basically concentrated AHAs and BHAs which is going to exfoliate your skin. Overuse can cause over exfoliation leading to extreme drying or sensitivity and even red skin or breakouts sometimes. But don’t worry, I will tell you how to use it and what worked for me so that you can get the maximum benefit out of it.

If you are a beginner or if you have sensitive skin, start with a small concentration as said like 2-5% and use it only once a week. Also, the duration the solution sits on your skin can only be 10 minutes or less for your first 4 to 5 times or till you feel that your skin got the tolerance. Gradually you can increase the duration and concentration.
If you feel that your skin got the tolerance for 5% peeling solution bottle you have for example, and you are done with the product, never jump to 30%. That is only going to worsen your skin but not better. It is only the regularity or the consistency of your routine that is going to give you the skin you have always wanted, not the concentration.

Gradually and slowly increase the concentration of the product and don’t skip brands frequently. Make sure to check the ingredient list and look for soothing agents like cica, aloe vera, glycerin, allantoin etc., in the first half of the list.

Coming to brands, peeling solution from PLIX, DermaCo, Minimalist, DermDoc and Foxtale are extremely good. But may not suit every skin type. PLIX is a bit thicker and stickier so if you don’t like it or have extremely oily skin don’t go for PLIX. But it works perfectly fine on its claims.
I found DermaCo much user friendly with its thin texture and it would be the best one if you are on the middle of the lane. Many products from Foxtale are extremely beginner friendly that you can blindly buy the product just after checking the concentration.
So, I would suggest you go with Foxtale if you are a beginner (especially works for dry skin, Disclaimer: some may feel that it clogs pores since its little creamy) until your skin gets used to exfoliants and peeling solutions. And for persons who are looking to increase the concentration a bit more DermaCo would be the one. PLIX is for much more experienced skin which can tolerate higher concentrations, I would suggest you use PLIX on tough skin like hands and legs.
DermDoc products are extremely good and are available in a range which suits everyone from beginners to experts. The particular product which I used in Dermdoc is its 10% Glycolic acid serum and have emptied almost 4 bottles! It’s such an amazing product which everyone who are sure that their skin can handle a 10% acid should try!
Dermdoc 10% glycolic acid solution has helped me clear a lot of stubborn acne scars and clogged pores for me. I haven’t in anyway sponsored by this brand, it’s just the love I have for this product.
