REMEDY 1:     MULTANI MITTI + ROSE FACE PACK

Multani Mitti soothes sunburns and clears hyperpigmentation caused by sun exposure. It has a cooling effect and its anti-tanning properties make it an effective treatment for skin conditions like Melasma that are caused due to sun exposure. Multani mitti is rich in aluminum silicate, amazing for combating oily and acne-prone skin. It also has lime in it, which can drain out excess oil and dirt in your skin. On the other hand, rose water also has skin lightening agents and is extremely good for sun burns and tan.

STEP 1:    Take 1 tbsp of Multani Mitti.
STEP 2:    Mix it with 2 – 3 tbsp of rose water to a paste like consistency.
STEP 3:    Apply it all over the face, leave it for 10 – 20 minutes and rinse it off with cold water.

PRO TIP:     You can also add essential oils to this pack to get a nice glow.

REMEDY 2:     TURMERIC + LIME FACE PACK

Turmeric contains powerful antioxident and anti inflamatory compound known as curcumin. This reduces the over production of melanin and helps in making the skin lighter and even toned. Lemon juice is great source of citric acid which is a great skin cleanser. Citric acid also helps in exfoliating your skin and removes the dead skin cells, thus reducing sun tan, scars and hyperpigmentation. Lemon juice comes loaded with vitamin C which is  known for its skin brightening and lightening properties. Vitamin C reduces melanin production in the skin and thus gradually helping lighten skin tan. STEP 1:     Take 1/2 tbsp of turmeric powder

REMEDY 3:     ALMOND SCRUB

 

Almonds are rich in vitamin E, zinc and omega 3 fatty acids. Vitamin E protects and treats the skin in case of sun damage. Zinc helps in healing the skin scars. It is also rich storehouse of the vitamins A and B which can help in locking the moisture and keeping skin hydrated. It is also scientifically proven that, almond naturally has spf properties. The lactic acid, vitamin A, D, E, and K and protein present in milk makes it a mild exfoliating and hydrating agent. Lactic acid in milk acts as a mild exfoliator. It also acts as a good toner and greatly helps in reducing hyperpigmentation and skin tanning. 

STEP 1:     Take some almonds and grind it coarse
STEP 2:     Take 2 tbsp raw cold milk for 1 tbsp of almond powder
STEP 3:     Apply the mixture on your face and gently exfoliate for 5 – 10 mins
STEP 4:     Leave it for 10 minutes and rinse it off with cold water

PRO TIP:     You can also use cold curd, but in case of curd avoid scrubbing it for more than 5 minutes.

REMEDY 4:     TOMATO + BESAN FACE PACK

The pulp of tomatoes contains lycopene which actually acts as good sun protecting factor. It contains natural bleaching properties and reduces dark spots and skin tanning. Besan also has lightening properties and zinc in it helps in reducing inflammation in skin and helps in calming the skin. 

STEP 1:     Take 1 tbsp of besan i.e. gram flour
STEP 2:     Mix it with 2 – 3 tbsp of tomato juice to a paste like consistency
STEP 3:     Apply it all over your face, leave it for 10-15 minutes and rinse it off with cold water

PRO TIP:     Besan also helps greatly in reducing acne and boils in your skin.

REMEDY 5:     YOGHURT (CURD) + HONEY FACE PACK

 

Curd has lactic acid which nourishes, hydrates and gently exfoliates your skin. Lactic acid also helps in lightening skin and tightens pores. Zinc in curd is anti-bacterial and helps to clear out acne. On the other hand, honey is extremely moisturizing and hydrating and thus helps in reducing finelines and wrinkles. Honey also gently exfoliates your skin and reduces damages caused due to UV radiation in our skin. It also adds nice glow to your skin.

STEP 1:     Take 2 tbsp of thick curd (plain yoghurt) 
STEP 2:     Mix it with 1 tbsp of wild honey
STEP 3:     Apply it all over your face, leave it for 15 – 20 minutes and rinse it off with cold water

PRO TIP:     Use raw honey, and as honey will not dry out easily, you can keep it for long time which will surely give you a nice glow.

REMEDY 6:     PAPAYA PULP

REMEDY 9:     POTATO JUICE

STEP 1:     Take 2 – 3 tbsp of potato juice

REMEDY 10:     GREEN TEA + ROSE PACK


Green tea will give you a soothing effect and will act effectively on the sun tan. Green tea has a compound called epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). A 2015 study found that EGCG can prevent melanin accumulation. It works by inhibiting an enzyme needed to make melanin. It cleanses all the impurities, present in your skin. The tea prevents free radicals from affecting our skin.The anti-inflammatory property of rose water offers you a natural and healthy glowing skin. It is highly loaded with antioxidants which soothes the skin and keep it moisturised. The pH balance is maintained. Rose water is slightly acidic in nature.

STEP 1:     Take 1 tbsp of green tea leaves and 20 – 30 rose petals
STEP 2:     Grind them to a paste like consistency by adding rose water
STEP 3:     Apply it all over your face and leave it for 15 – 20 minutes and rinse it off with cold water.

PRO TIP:     Use fresh rose petals and using tha paste after refrigerating is recomended for best results.

DO’S:

1. Always remember to wear sunscreen (GOLDEN TIP)
2. Always choose sunscreen according to your skin type
3. Try wearing hats, shawls and coolers when going outdoors
4. Sunscreen should be worn in both indoors and outdoors
5. Try wearing covered cloths when going under sun

DON’TS:

1. Do not over scrub your skin when it gets tanned
2. Do not apply actives  like vitamin C wheen you are going under sun
3. Applying natural substances like oils and lemon juice and  going under sun may cause tan
4. Even after applying sunscreen, do not go under sun during noon time (11 a.m to 4 a.m)
5. During higher temperatues, prefer spf more than 40 ( spf 15 and 30 are recomended only for indoors)
